Challenge & Solution
Challenge
Greek organization alumni lacked dedicated platforms to maintain long term connections and networking opportunities after graduation.
Solution
We created an alumni networking platform that enables members to reconnect, share opportunities, and maintain community engagement across professional and social environments.
Greek organisations produce an unusually strong network and then lose almost all of it at graduation. Contact goes into a chapter spreadsheet maintained by whoever held the alumni role that year, personal email addresses stop working when people leave university, and within three years the list is mostly dead.
What is left is a Facebook group that active members do not use and a national organisation with a database several years behind reality. Chapters kept rebuilding the same list from scratch every few years.
The founders had both served in alumni relations roles and knew the actual failure was not enthusiasm. Alumni wanted to stay connected. The infrastructure simply expired faster than anyone could maintain it, and every attempt to fix it produced another spreadsheet that would expire in turn.
Directory accuracy going from around 40% to 91% is the result everything else depends on. Self-maintained records do not decay the way a maintained-by-committee spreadsheet does.
The donation lift was the outcome national organisations cared about, and it came almost entirely from being able to reach alumni at all rather than from any change in fundraising approach.
Member profiles owned and updated by the alumnus rather than by a chapter officer, which is the structural fix: the record stays current because the person it belongs to has a reason to maintain it.
Chapter directories are searchable by graduation year, industry, city and employer, which is what makes the network usable for something other than nostalgia.
A mentorship matcher pairs current members with alumni by field and by stated interest, with a structured first-conversation prompt so a match does not die at the introduction.
Events run with RSVP and ticketing at chapter and national level. Giving campaigns tie to specific chapter needs with visible progress. A jobs board carries roles posted by alumni, and chapter officers get a handover flow so a change of officer does not lose institutional memory.
