Challenge & Solution
Challenge
Consumers struggled to identify reliable service providers, while local professionals lacked scalable digital channels to reach new customers and manage bookings efficiently.
Solution
We built a marketplace that centralizes service discovery, improves booking workflows, and enables professionals to expand their customer base while providing consumers with trusted local service options.
Hiring a tradesperson is a trust problem wearing the costume of a search problem. Anyone can find twenty plumbers. Working out which of them will turn up, do the job properly and charge what they quoted is the part nobody has solved well.
The client had spent years on the provider side and saw the mirror image. Good tradespeople were spending evenings on quoting admin, chasing payment, and rebuilding a customer base every time a directory site changed its pricing. The lead-generation platforms sold the same enquiry to five providers, so four of them wasted the effort and the customer got five calls they did not want.
Both sides were paying for a broken intermediary. The brief was to build one that charged for a completed job rather than for the possibility of one.
Charging on completion rather than per lead changed provider behaviour more than any feature did. Nobody is bidding on jobs they cannot service, which is why the completion rate sits at 96%.
The verification layer became the marketing message. Customers arriving from search cite licence and insurance checking as the reason they used the platform rather than calling a number from a directory.
Provider onboarding with licence and insurance verification checked at signup and re-checked on expiry, which is the baseline the directory sites skip.
Job posting takes a structured brief with photos, and routes to a small number of matched providers rather than broadcasting to everyone, so a response means genuine interest.
Quoting is itemised in-platform with a scope that both sides accept before work starts, which is what most disputes come down to. Payment holds in escrow and releases on customer confirmation of completion.
Scheduling syncs to the provider's calendar with automated customer reminders. Reviews are tied to completed and paid jobs only. A provider dashboard covers pipeline, earnings, repeat customers and a simple job costing view.
